Eleven people have been injured in a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway in north Queensland.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of the highway with Zinc Road in Stuart, an outer suburb of Townsville, about 12.18pm on Tuesday.
Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman Peter Nilson said the 11 patients were taken to Townsville Hospital.
Two men were in a serious but stable condition with abdominal and chest injuries. One of the patients was trapped in the wreckage for an hour before being cut free by fire crews.
Three more adults were all in stable conditions with limb injuries and six children were also taken from the scene suffering minor injuries.
Outbound lanes of the Bruce Highway were closed while the injured were taken to hospital and the Forensic Crash Unit investigated. The stretch of road reopened just before 4pm.
