At a time when he is consistently criticising dynasty politics in the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi indulged in witticisms on April 9 and talked about the dynasty in the Shiv Sena.
At a rally he addressed with Uddhav Thackeray, a first for them, in Latur, Modi tried to make up for that remark. Thackeray was quite upset with the dynasty barb. Modi said the Thackerays are the only family that did not try to get a position of power.
A Thackeray could have become chief minister but the family showed dignity and refused the position. Uddhav seemed relieved after Prime Minister Modi’s speech in Latur.
