One person has been injured after a section of roof detached from a train at a station in Sydney’s inner-west.

Images shared to social media showed metal sheeting on the ground of a platform at Burwood Station this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 1.30pm after a person suffered minor injuries from the incident, a NSW Ambulance spokesman told 9news.com.au.

The person was assessed and did not require further medical treatment.

The Epping to Central service has since been terminated at Burwood due to a “train requiring mechanical services”, T1 Sydney Trains tweeted.
